Award Program
Since its inception in 1957, SHFS has diligently worked to gather and preserve Saskatchewan history. Throughout this time, many individuals and organizations, not incorporated with the SHFS, have also worked towards this goal. In an effort to recognize their work, the SHFS has established an awards program for individuals and organizations who have contributed to preserving and interpreting Saskatchewan’s history.
The SHFS encourages interested individuals (excluding current SHFS Board members) or organizations to submit a nomination for these awards. It is open to volunteers, professionals, non-profit organizations and corporations. Mediums that qualify for the award, but are not limited to: educational projects, books, plays, music, folkloric crafts, oral histories, electronic publications, films, etc.
The work or project for which the individual or organization is being nominated must contribute to the vision of SHFS and must be available to the public within Saskatchewan. In making a nomination provide your name, the nominees name, and brief explanation why SHFS should support your nomination.
The SHFS Award is a large hand inscribed certificate suitable for framing.
The application deadline is April 30th of each year.
